Yesterday's selection took a telling late drift and ran no sort of race. Onwards today with another 2pt selection, graduating today so won't be able to watch either race but hopefully I come back to two winners

15:05 Nottingham - FANTASY KEEPER 9/4

2 Points Win

I backed Fantasy Keeper when he won well over course and distance back in may (awful after timing I know), and kept the faith when Ryan Moore was booked next time out upped in class at Haydock. Despite starting favourite he couldn't follow up but still ran a race full of promise having to switch to the near side rail and staying on strongly to finish a never nearer third. The sixth placed horse from that race has since gone on to win a class 4 race at Kempton and the ninth won next time out at Haydock when dropped to 5F. This drop back to class 5 company can be seen as a massive positive, as he still has a progressive looking sprinting profile. Worth noting that Zumran won convincingly last time at Doncaster and David Egan's claim can be seen as a big positive. However that success came in a class 6 so has a rise in grade as well as the weights to contend with. Fantasy Keeper is fancied to give weight and a beating to all his rivals

15:15 Newbury - SURE TO EXPLORE 7/1

1 Point Each-Way

This is a race in which it is hard to rule out any of the opposition, but three are particularly interesting. The first of which is Mistress Quickly, who won nicely two starts ago at Newmarket by two and a half lengths, that race was worth nearly £4,000 to the winner. Next time out, upped 7lb and stepped up from that class 5 contest to a class 2 contest worth £31,000, she ran very respectably finishing 5th beaten just over 4 lengths. She has to be a contender dropped down into class 3 handicap company. Another one I like in this field is Fire Jet, her win at Nottingham in May was impressive staying on strongly in the closing stages for a smooth success. The second that day has since boosted the form by finishing second beaten half a length next time out and then winning on Tuesday when making all and scoring by 3 lengths. Fire Jet was subsequently raised 5lb and lost by only half a length off that mark at Sandown, her most recent run can be excused as she was travelling as strongly on the softer ground. Both Mistress Quickly and Fire Jet are likely to be involved, but they may struggle to give weight to one lurking nearer the bottom of the weights. Sure To Explore carries just 8st 6lbs, and thats without taking into account George Woods' 3lb claim. She never got involved on her debut but took a big step forward on her second start at Chepstow winning by half a length from So Sleek, who came out on Thursday and franked the form when winning at Lingfield.  With more improvement likely upped in trip, William Muir's charge gets the nod for an each way bet here as a value bet against those nearer the front of the market.
