18:10 Musselburgh - THORNTOUN LADY 14/1
1 Point Each-Way
Recent runs suggest Thortoun Lady has been crying out for this step up to seven furlongs and I think she can be competitive in a race like this. Two starts ago at Redcar Jim Goldie's mare ran a huge race to finish fourth at 40/1, she finished like a train late on after having an interrupted passage through. Given how strong she was at the finish it was a surprise to see her dropped to 5f next time out at Musselburgh, where again she shaped as though she wanted further. Now a pound lower than her eye-catching Redcar run, with Sean Mooney claiming 7lbs, she looks worth backing each-way.
18:25 Kempton - PRECIOUS ANGEL 6/1
0.5 Points Each-Way
Precious Angel ran a race full of promise on her sole start at this venue and I'm hoping she will be able to build on that today. That course and distance run came back in August, she missed the break that day and was stopped in her run two furlongs from home and, although when she had racing room she rattled home, it was too late. The form of that race looks very solid, given that the winner has won again since and is now rated 14lb higher and the fourth & sixth placed horses won on their next start. Richard Hannon's filly hasn't shown a huge amount since but there is a chance the return to the all-weather could help her to shed her maiden tag here. Take 1/5 odds 4 places.
20:25 Kempton - BORN TO FINISH 13/2
2 Points Win
This fella was put up last time out and was given an absolute shocker of a ride, he ran on strongly to get us place money that day but if he is given a better chance by the jockey today I expect him to win this. He races off the same mark as last time, which is a mark 2lb lower than his last winning mark and although his turf form this season is pretty uninspiring that wouldn't worry me as he seems an all-weather specialist. He is well named, as you should expect him to come with a late run and, if Dougie Costello can give him a better chance than last time, he should win this.
