13:35 Doncaster - BERTIEWHITTLE 16/1
0.5 Points Each-Way
Bertiewhittle is sure to handle softer conditions at Doncaster, a track where he tends to run very well. He comes into this contest off a mark just 1lb higher than when winning over course and distance back in August, a mark also just 2lb higher than when finishing a neck second in this contest a year ago. The winner of last year's renewal, Oh This Is Us, has since franked that form with his performances this season. Bertiewhittle's most recent run looks strong form too, finishing third behind Makzeem, who has since placed in a competitive handicap at Ascot off a 5lb higher mark, a race which has produced the impressive Balmoral winner Lord Glitters.
16:20 Wolverhampton - MEANDMYSHADOW 11/1
0.5 Points Each-Way
Zenovia may prove hard to beat after winning over course and distance last week but there looks each-way value against the favourite here. Meandmyshadow has been very consistent lately and looks to be on a workable mark. She finished fourth at Newcastle to the progressive filly Lady Of The Lamp, who bids to complete the hatrick Friday evening as I write this. Meandmyshadow certainly handle tapeta, she won a handicap here off a mark 13lb higher than todays, albeit that was over two years ago, but she has proven to be in fine form recently and may capitalise on this mark.

19:50 Wolverhampton - SPIRITUAL STAR 12/1
0.5 Points Each-Way
There are a few question marks over this at the top of the market in this and an each-way play at double figure odds looks the option. Acrux has looked a bit quirky, this trip may be on the sharp side for Epitaph and Luang Prabang got the run of the race last time and is upped in grade off a higher mark. Spiritual Star looks the alternative after showing signs of bouncing back when running on late to finish third from a wide draw at Lingfield on his latest start. The jockey may have left things too late on that occasion so Oisin Murphy taking over the reins from an apprentice can be seen as a positive. Spiritual Star had been disappointing prior to that on the turf but he has a much better strike rate on the all-weather. Lee Carter's charge won off a mark of 86 when with previous trainer Anthony Carson and has show he retains enough ability to win off this mark of 72.
