20:15 Newcastle - JESSIE ALLEN 8/1
1 Point Each-Way
Jim Goldie continues to fire in the winners recently, with Testa Rossa bolting up for this blog on Wednesday evening. He has a few runners in with chances this evening at Newcastle and, as much as I don't often advise multiples, it would be hard to put you off a little trixie tonight. But one runner stood out to me particularly, Jessie Allen. This mare has been admirably consistent and finished second behind the current favourite, Breathoffreshair, over course and distance back in November despite missing the break and she is 6lb better off with that rival on todays terms. She backed that performance up when finishing second again over C&D on her next start beaten only 3/4 of a length. Jim Goldie's mare has run well in her last two starts on the tapeta at Wolverhampton over an inadequate six furlongs. Stepped back up to seven furlongs today, she is a confident selection, although her 0-33 record suggests an each-way bet would be the sensible option.
