16:35 Kempton - MERCERS 10/1

0.5 Points Each-Way

Olaudah could take some stopping in this, especially with talented apprentice Nicola Currie taking off a valuable 5lb, but he is short enough, so the suggestion is a small each-way play on Mercers at a bigger price. Mercers won an apprentice handicap, which was pretty solid for the grade, in good fashion on his last start and he is unpenalised for that success today and is racing off a 2lb lower mark. He won despite meeting trouble in running that day and it helps that Jason Watson remains in the saddle taking off 7lb, Paddy Butler's charge looks worth chancing each-way in a competitive looking contest.

17:10 Kempton - TROTTER 15/2

1 Point Each-Way (Bet365 paying 1/4 Four places)

Though still a maiden, Trotter has been a consistent performer and this step up in trip may finally see Stuart Kittow's gelding get his head in front. Back in October he finished a never nearer neck second in a class 5 handicap at Kempton and has been placed twice subsequently off his 2lb higher mark. On all recent evidence he has been screaming out for this 7f trip and, with four places available from Bet365, he looks a cracking each-way bet.

17:40 Kempton - ELJADDAAF 8/1

1 Point Win

Eljaddaaf looked like he bounced back to form last time out, ending a string of disappointing performances with a fast finishing second here at Kempton over 6f. He has been upped 2lb for that second and is up in grade, but you only have to watch his devastating performance here at Kempton this time last year to know he is certainly still a player off this sort of mark. The race looks like it should be run to suit as well, with London, Alejandro and Lucymai all likely to set a strong gallop. If Eljaddaaf is back to his form of this time last year, he may prove tough to beat.
