15:30 Newcastle - CADEAU MAGNIFIQUE 8/1 1 Point Each-Way Current favourite, Theglasgowwarrior, hit the front a fair way from home last time out, which isn't always ideal at this venue, but was only headed late on and this drop back to 1m2f may well suit. However, one at a bigger price who catches the eye is Cadeau Magnifique. Richard Fahey's charge was entitled to need his recent run at this course (after a 343 day break) but still ran a perfectly respectable race finishing fourth over a trip which was probably on the sharp side for him. Prior to his long lay-off he ran a big race over this course and distance when finishing second to General Hazard, who has won a further 3 races subsequently and is 11lb higher than when beating Cadeau Magnifique by half a length. Whereas Richard Fahey's gelding is just 2lb higher than that run and with that recent run under his belt, he looks worth an each-way bet here. 17:15 Newcastle - RICH AGAIN 16/1 0.5 Points Each-Way Des...

Sorry for the lack of write-ups on Monday's selections, I have been flat out with university work the last few days, hence the lack of activity on here. However, we did kick off the week with a day of profit and Wednesday's bets complete with write ups are below. 14:45 Wolverhampton - DELEYLL 8/1 1 Point Each-Way Deleyll ran an eye-catching race on return from a mammoth absence earlier this month and the booking of Adam Kirby for this contest suggests connections fancy their chances here. John Butler's gelding was bumped about in the opening stages of the race at Lingfield last time out and despite breaking perfectly well, found himself out the back three furlongs out, he was then forced to make his challenge very wide and wasn't given a hard time. He is sure to improve for that run and Kirby's experience will aid that improvement, taking over from an apprentice. He has an all-weather win to his name already and now makes his tapeta debut and there isn't...

No write ups today unfortunately as I'm flat out with university work at the moment, three bets I managed to pick out are below, though. 15:30 Lingfield - SAYESSE 2/1 1.5 Point Win 16:35 Lingfield - FRANK THE BARBER 7/1 1 Point Each-Way (SkyBet paying 4 places) 19:15 Wolverhampton - WEATHER FRONT 9/2 1 Point Win

14:45 Lingfield - GORGEOUS 25/1 1 Point Each-Way Gorgeous has been unlucky on her last couple of starts and his second place finish here back in November was a massively eyecatching run. She was squeezed out at the start and forced to race in the rear and if you paused the race turning for home and told someone she would finish second not many would believe you. Tony Carroll's mare did the best of those held up in a race where prominent racers were favoured, she rattled home late on and suggested this 6f trip could be ideal. Her next run was disappointing but she was never really travelling in a race which wasn't run to suit and it looks worth putting a line through that. Last time out, over this 6f trip at Kempton she ran a much better race than her ninth place finish suggests, drawn widest and denied a clear run turning for home, she still made some late headway and wasn't beaten all that far. From a better draw and off a 3lb lower mark, on just her ninth career st...

19:45 Kempton - TAQWAA 11/2 1.5 Points Win Taqwaa ran a blinder on debut for Laura Morgan on his comeback from a mammoth absence at Chelmsford recently and he can continue his stable rich vein of form this evening. Despite being caught further behind than ideal last time at Chelmsford, he made significant late headway and was only beaten half a length. The form of that contest has been well advertised since, with Shamrokh, who finished a length and a quarter behind the selection, winning both his subsequent starts. Taqwaa also had Wimpole Hall behind on that occasion and is certainly entitled to come on for that run, and if he does he will prove difficult to beat.

14:00 Lingfield - CRINDLE CARR 25/1 0.5 Points Each-Way Crindle Carr ran his best race for this yard when staying on into fourth over two miles at Kempton, despite not experiencing the clearest of passages, it is likely he found the 1m2f trip too sharp on his next start. Although it would be a surprise to see him win this contest, with stamina doubts about a couple of rivals who are more fancied in the market, it would not be a surprise to see him staying on late and filling one of the places. 16:15 Lingfield -  HOLD HANDS 6/1 1 Point Each-Way Hold Hands clearly needed the run on his first start back from a long absence at Wolverhampton in December, but he improved bundles for that when a close second over 1m4f at Kempton in January. She finished ahead of current favourite Diamond Reflection on that occasion and is reposing the favourite on 6lb better terms. Fran Berry remains in the saddle and he must go close if reproducing that effort but her 0-15 recor...

14:15 Leicester - DYLANSEOGHAN 2/1 2 Points Win Dylanseoghan looks a standout bet in what looks a fairly weak contest. His most recent run when finishing third behind Kincora Fort has worked out well, as well as being highlighted as a good on the clock, the third placed horse bolted up by 29 lengths on his next start. His previous second here at Leicester has also worked out well since and with Zoe Davison 2-2 in the last fortnight he looks worth a punt. 19:30 Chelmsford - ARNARSON 5/1 1 Point Win Spare Parts has been one of the stars of the all-weather season so far, but upped in grade off a career high mark, he makes little appeal at odds of 2/1. Arnarson looks a worthy alternative, he's had excuses since bolting up at Wolverhampton and the manner of that success suggests he could be up to winning off this mark. He won by five lengths at Dunstall Park and did it very easily, on his next start he was given a poor ride and met plenty of trouble in running eventually ...

17:15 Wolverhampton - BUSH BEAUTY 16/1 0.5 Points Each-Way Stakes are small for this bet as this is an apprentice race and in these contests it can often be difficult to predict how the race is run. Having said that, Bush Beauty sticks out like a sore thumb at a price of 16/1, I expected her to be half that price. It is easy to put a line through her last run where she clearly didn't handle the Fibresand at Southwell and, prior to that, Eric Alston's mare ran a screamer over course and distance when beaten a neck in a race which has worked out well. The winner of that race, Lucky lodge, has won again since with the fourth and fifth placed horses also scoring subsequently. Paula Muir who rode Bush Beauty in that race is on board once again and the mare races off a mark 1lb lower than that day, so I can't resist an each-way bet at 16/1. 18:45 Wolverhampton - FRUIT SALAD 14/1 0.5 Points Each-Way (SkyBet Paying 4 Places) Fruit Salad is another who arrives at Dunst...

17:40 Wolverhampton -   BATTLE LINES 6/1 0.5 Points Each-Way   To say Battle Line's latest start at Newcastle didn't go to plan would be a bit of an understatement and he is better judged on his earlier promising third at Kempton. He missed the break at Newcastle and was far too keen in the early stages giving himself no chance of seeing out the trip. He had kept on well in the closing stages at Kempton prior to that run and the change from a small tactical affair to this field should help him to settle better. 18:10 Wolverhampton -   QAFFAAL 9/1 1 Point win Qaffaal had no chance of getting his head in front at Lingfield last time when held up in a steadily run race, in fact, it is impressive that he finished as close is he did, especially as once he did manage to get rolling he was stuck behind horses. Pactolus should ensure they go a decent gallop today and off a mark just 1lb higher than his most recent win, Qaffaal could upset the short-priced favou...

15:35 Newbury - SPIRITOFTHEGAMES 25/1 0.5 Points Each-Way (Betfair Paying 6 Places) The Lanzarote hurdle looks to be some of the hottest handicap hurdle form of the season and Spiritofthegames second place finish stands out. Topofthegame, who finished two lengths behind the selection at Kempton, won a group 3 on his next start and is now rated 11lbs higher than his Lanzarote mark. Spiritofthegames was only raised 5lb for his performance in the Lanzarote so he looks well treated, the main concern is the drop back to 2m, as he looks to have needed the extra few furlongs when winning, but then he has never attempted a trip this short. I will be keeping a close eye on his performance and, if this trip proves to be on the sharp side for him, he would still be one to keep in mind for the Coral cup at the Cheltenham festival. 16:35 Lingfield -  BORN TO FINISH 9/2 1.5 Points Win I have backed this horse on more occasions than I care to remember and he will once again carry th...

14:45 Bangor - RIGHT TO REPLY 12/1 0.5 Points Each-Way A hunters chase is the last race I'd normally have a bet in, but I fancy Right Of Reply to outrun his double figure odds. He has had just two starts for Harry Skelton and travelled well in his races before weakening quickly in the closing stages. The wind operation he has had recently may help him to see out his races better and it will be interesting to see how he takes to this sphere under Gina Andrews. 14:35 Chelmsford - NARALSAIF 6/1  1 Point Each-Way Prior to Monday, Naralsaif had been running consistently well, hitting the frame without scoring. But on every occasion she has shaped as though she could do with a step up in trip and Derek Shaw's filly gets her first crack at this mile trip since her debut. She finished third off this mark over the six furlong trip here at Chelmsford, keeping on late in the day and with the extra couple of furlongs to suit, she could prove tough to keep out of the places. Th...

13:45 Huntingdon -  MIDNIGHT TARGET 5/2 1 Point Win Those who read the blog will notice that I put this one up at a bigger price and with a larger stake when he was due to run at Ludlow yesterday. She is a shorter price today in this smaller field and I think he could be a cut above this opposition, her most recent run behind Happy Diva reads very well in the context of this race. She jumped particularly well last time and responded well to pressure, coming to the last she was only two lengths down on Happy Diva who is rated 128, so Midnight Target's mark of 109 could prove to be a lenient one. However, the trip is a slight concern and her best efforts have come at Ludlow, hence the lower stake than yesterday. 16:55 Newcastle -  NEWMARKET WARRIOR 11/2 1 Point Each-Way (SkyBet Paying 4 Places) Newmarket Warrior has a good record over this course and distance and is now just 3lb higher than when scoring with a bit in hand ...
