17:40 Wolverhampton - BATTLE LINES 6/1

0.5 Points Each-Way

To say Battle Line's latest start at Newcastle didn't go to plan would be a bit of an understatement and he is better judged on his earlier promising third at Kempton. He missed the break at Newcastle and was far too keen in the early stages giving himself no chance of seeing out the trip. He had kept on well in the closing stages at Kempton prior to that run and the change from a small tactical affair to this field should help him to settle better.

18:10 Wolverhampton - QAFFAAL 9/1

1 Point win

Qaffaal had no chance of getting his head in front at Lingfield last time when held up in a steadily run race, in fact, it is impressive that he finished as close is he did, especially as once he did manage to get rolling he was stuck behind horses. Pactolus should ensure they go a decent gallop today and off a mark just 1lb higher than his most recent win, Qaffaal could upset the short-priced favourite, who was impressive last time out but takes a big step up in grade.

19:10 Wolverhampton - LAMBRINI LEGACY 9/1

1 Point Each-Way

The addition of blinkers to his usual headwear seemed to spark Lambrini Legacy into life last time out when behind the reopposing Barnsdale at Kempton. He finished did best of those held up off the pace in a race which favoured prominent racers and finished with a rattle after meeting trouble in running. He reopposes the winner on 5lb better terms and, although the hood has been removed, the blinkers remain and if they have a positive effect again Lambrini's Legacy could turn around the form.

20:40 Wolverhampton - IDOL DEPUTY 16/1

0.5 Points Each-Way (4 Places SkyBet, Ladbrokes, Betfair etc.)

You would certainly not make a lot of money backing horses drawn in stall 13 at Dunstall Park, but at odds of 16/1 Idol Deputy still looks worth a small each-way bet despite a coffin box. He finally showed the benefit of a slide down the weights when running on strongly late on in a course and distance event on Wednesday and he will likely be seen to better effect today with a stronger pace expected. His last win came this time last year when winning a C & D event off a 13lb higher mark. He has won over this C & D no fewer than nine times and this old boy has a good chance of adding a tenth if overcoming this wide draw.
