Apologies for the lack of recent content but a combination of my university workload and wanting to keep my powder dry for Royal Ascot have meant a quiet start to the month. That being said, I've found one at a decent price for tomorrow which can hopefully put a few extra pennies in the Ascot piggy bank.

15:35 York

Beshaayir was the one that first took my eye when looking at this competitive three year old sprint handicap. William Haggas' filly has only had four starts to date and still holds both Commonwealth Cup and Coronation Stakes entries. She can be forgiven her latest start where fluffed the start and raced keenly throughout but the market hasn't missed her here. Tim Easterby has won three of the last five runnings of this, so Angels and Staxton both have to be respected for the Yorkshire handler. Commander Han went into my tracker after an impressive win at Chelmsford back in February but he disappointed when sent off odds on favourite here at York recently and will need to leave that effort well behind. I like the look of a slightly more exposed sort in the shape of David O'Meara's Consequences. He was held in high regard last year, running well in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot before winning stylishly  at Newmarket on his final start last season (albeit a weak contest). The Dandy Man colt disappointed on his first two starts this year failing to beat a single rival home but showed signs of a revival when finish fourth  at Windsor on his most recent start. He was doing his best work at the end in what looked a decent little contest, suggesting this step back up to six furlongs should suit him. If he can return to the level we saw last year then he should be very competitive. That is obviously a fairly big 'if', but with some firms offering five places each-way at odds of 25/1, I'm willing to take the chance.

Consequences 25/1 - 0.5 Each-Way
