Its easy to make a case for both of those in the race who carry penalties for their successes last time out. While, despite disappointing recently, Outlaw Torn could be hard to peg back from his handy draw if getting his own way out in front. I can see why Right About Now is near the top of the market given the form of the Chris Dwyer yard and David Egan taking off a handy 3lbs. However, I'm willing to take a chance on Higgy's Heartbeat. On breeding (a half brother to Ornate by Acclamation) there is very little to say this trip of 1m2f would be ideal but the way he shaped on his most recent start seemed to suggest otherwise. Dean Ivory's gelding is still a maiden after ten starts but caught the eyelash time out over seven furlongs at Chelmsford. He missed the break and did well to make headway from the rear when not best positioned but had the door slammed in his face when staying on in the final furlong.  If he can break on better terms and stays this longer trip (which is obviously a big if), he is on a workable mark to finally shed his maiden tag.

Acclaim The Nation is the obvious starting point when looking at this contest, he probably did well to finish as close as he did when a length third behind subsequent Epsom dash winner Tanasoq. He didn't have it all his own way in front and the fact that all four of the other horses in the first five places were described as held up showed he set a very strong pace. However with Harome in the line up again, this time drawn in the stall next door, it's possible that he could be hassled up front and set it up for closers once again. The pick of those potential closers is Bashiba, he showed signs of returning to form when fourth at Redcar last time out. Nigel Tinkler's charge is very well handicapped on last seasons form, notably when third over course and distance despite meeting trouble in running, off a 9lb higher mark. He was beaten a neck by Acclaim The Nation at Doncaster last year but meets that rival on 13lb better terms and must have a good chance of getting his head in front today.

Bashiba 9/2 - 1 Point Win
