13:15 Thirsk

After a fairly disappointing campaign in 2019 Zap looks very well handicapped at present and the 2lb he was dropped for his reappearance looks rather generous. It was a very encouraging return to action as he did best of those held up that day, making nice late headway into fifth. The form of that run was also given a nice boost at the Royal meeting this week when Presidential ran a belter in the Royal Hunt Cup consolation race off a 5lb higher mark.

Suitcase 'N' Taxi and Northgate Lad should ensure there is a decent pace for the selection to aim at and with firms offering 4 places each-way he looks a cracking each-way bet here.

Zap 7/1 - 1 Point Each-Way

I fancied Rasheeq to win last time out at Newbury and although he couldn't write repel the late challenge of Global Hope, that run deserves a lot of credit given he raced up with a strong pace and stayed on well all the way to the line, whereas other prominent racers folded tamely in the final furlong. He's up 2lb for that but there's still every reason to think he is well handicapped currently.

He won comfortably at Newbury four starts ago by over 3 lengths and that race has worked out VERY well. The second placed horse has rattled up a hat-trick since and is now 14lb higher. The third won his next two starts and is 13lb higher. The fourth won her next start and is now 12lb higher. The fifth placed horse won 3 times before the end of the season is 7lb higher. The sixth placed horse won his next three starts and is now 14lb higher.

Rasheeq is only 8lb higher and has had his excuses since, his trainer is amongst the winners and he looks a decent each-way play with 4 places widely available.

Rasheeq 11/1 - 0.5 Points Each-Way
