For the purposes of the @handinapcomp on twitter, I'll be keeping Lattam onside here after his Irish Lincoln win last time out. That was extremely impressive, he was boxed in for what seemed like an eternity but when the door opened the way he rattled home blew me away. I don't think he's a particularly value price at present though and think it could be worth playing a couple each-way to fill the other places.
The first of which is REVICH who I do have some doubts about the ground for, but that also applies to most of the field here and he does have a win on good to soft to his name - so we'll take a swing. He often runs well in big field handicaps, seen last year when an excellent third in the golden mile at Goowood at 66/1 when drawn on the wrong side of the track. That came off a mark of 96 and he ran well later in the season at Ayr when beaten under a length behind course specialist Gweedore off 95. On the face of it his 9th in the Lincoln on reappearance earlier this month may look disappointing, but the 7th and 8th from that contest finished 1st and 2nd at Newmarket during the week. Revich also usually steps forward a good deal from 1st to 2nd run of the season, improving 12lb on RPRs in 2022, 9lb in 2021 and 17lb in 2020. He's now back down to his last winning mark of 92 and looks worth supporting each-way with 4 places widely available.
I'll also take BRUNCH for Michael Dodds, who has finally started to find a bit of form with a winner this week and others running well. He was only beaten a head off this mark of 104 at York last season and, although you'd like to have seen more at Doncaster last time out, he'll be much more suited by the return to this big field handicap scenario. The booking of William Buick also looks a positive, he was on board for Brunch's last win and has a 43% strike rate for this yard.
REVICH 16/1 - 1 Point Each-Way
BRUNCH 12/1 - 0.5 Point Each-Way
